ANCHAL / ON-chal / NOUN
1. THE DECORATIVE EDGE OF A SARI USED TO PROVIDE COMFORT & PROTECTION TO LOVED ONES 2. SHELTER
Anchal Project's mission is to help underprivileged women in India better themselves by learning a trade to support not only themselves, but also their family. All products are made from up-cycled sari that are overdyed in new colors, allowing the original patterns to show through. This means that no two pieces are ever exactly the same! They are also hand-stitched, and each features a personally applied designer mark by the artisan maker. Every purchase of an Anchal product provides an artisan with a full-time job, health care benefits, design training, and educational workshops.
